A DayBook Entry for July 6, 2009

For Today...Monday, July 6th, 2009.

Outside my window...the day is drawing to a close. It is dark, still, and uncharacteristically cool for a July evening in Missouri.

I am thinking
...if I allow myself the time to pout about the things that disappoint and disturb me, I will miss positive opportunities, and then I will have regrets to add to my list of disturbances.

From the learning rooms...our art lesson is delayed until next week, the girls have taken a few days of vacation from Math and formal studies, and the library books currently on loan have been finished. It is time for a trip to the library and a renewed learning schedule. We may take some time this week to set some goals for the new school year.

I am thankful for...our house. This weekend, as we were mowing and trimming the front yard,
the previous owners of our house pulled into the driveway. We visited for a few minutes and I was transported back to the first day we toured this house. I knew immediately that it would be "home" for our family.

From the kitchen...we had taco salad tonight and I forgot to add the avocado I left to ripen in the basket.

I am wearing...jeans and a black t-shirt top.

I am creating...some abstract collages using an experimental medium of smoke bombs and fireworks applied to paper.

I am hoping...for the best for my children.

I am hearing...a change of pitch in the motor of the fan- I wonder if WD-40 would help.

Around the house...I have too many projects stalled in the "accumulate the supplies" stages.

One of my favorite things...summer.

A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week...a birthday party, a mom's night out, and some friends coming for dinner this weekend.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

We had a very pleasant Independence Day weekend filled with
family, food, and fireworks.
I was unsuccessful in my attempts at capturing images of the fireworks,
but John took this photo with his new Palm Pre phone.
This explosion looked like a galaxy of stars.

Peggy at The Simple Woman is taking the summer off from
The Simple Woman's Daybook.

I have unintentionally taken a break from blogging,
but I find that this format helps give some

structure to my thoughts, so I will be sharing my own entry today.

SO TRUE!: "I am thinking...if I allow myself the time to pout about the things that disappoint and disturb me, I will miss positive opportunities, and then I will have regrets to add to my list of disturbances."

I too seem to have unintentionally taken a bit of a blog break. I've been using the format of 7 Quick Take Friday to blog for the last few weeks, but I also posted a Daybook entry today.

I need someone else to structure my blog posts when I'm busy.
